QUESTIONS?

COMMUNITY KNOWLEDGE SEMINARS

  ISSUES

"Can the collective knowledge of a single sector be captured and utilised appropriately and effectively to the wider benefit of society?

If so, how?

And, what changes are

needed to current practices within organisations?"

The questions to the left are the main theme of Community Knowledge's 1/2 day seminar entitled:

"Knowledge Sharing, the Third Sector and Civil Society"

which is held quarterly at the Ramside Hall Hotel, Durham.

The seminar is based on practical exercises in an attempt to search for practical solutions to knowledge sharing in organisations.

Some of the issues covered in the seminar include:

  • Data 'smog', information 'overload' and 'hazy' knowledge

  • Reflective practices

  • Social networks

  • Communities of practice

  • The role of ICTs
